About the Event

"Equal parts brilliant and stratospheric"

— Music Box Pete (CBS Nominated Blogger)

In Dylan's own words: "Music is not just a means of entertainment for me.  It is a way of communicating.  It is a way of delivering a message.  The world is in desperate need of good story, of meaning of truth and of art and I want to use the skills I’ve honed and the opportunities given to me to deliver these things to people.  I want people to be able to experience the joy of the same stories that intrigued my young mind into the world of music.  Lyrics mean everything and the “live for the moment” type of pop-philosophy that has overtaken a large part of the music world is trying to fool us into not caring about storyline and meaning.  They haven’t fooled me.  I don’t think they’ve fooled you either.  I’d love for you to come along for the adventure… "

About

Hand chosen by Paul Simon for a private songwriting session in Boston MA, Dylan Galvin is a melodic pop-alternative guitarist and songwriter who likes to add a touch of quirkiness and a dash of philosophy to his emotionally based music.  Earning a degree from Berklee College of Music, Dylan studied under some of the best musicians in the world, including John Mayer's own guitar teacher, Tomo Fujita and James Taylors quaint and talented brother, Livingston.

He's racked up quite a few awards for his music including "IMEA Adult Contemporary Artist of the Year", "Phoenix Radio Best Guitarist", "ISC Honorable Mention", "Berklee Songwriting Competition Winner". He is an introverted storyteller at heart, weaving words into his intricate acoustic finger-style guitar playing, looking at the world with careful discernment and trying to balance his inner optimist and pessimist.
